Regardless of which tour you take, we give all tourists a pre-tour briefing to ensure you are fully prepared for - and will get the most out of - this unique trip. We therefore require all tourists to arrive in Beijing ONE DAY BEFORE DEPARTURE to attend a 4PM briefing.

All tourists arrive to Pyongyang by plane on Air Koryo.
US citizens can currently depart DPRK only by plane
*At present there is still a policy in DPRK restricting US nationals from leaving North Korea by train.
As soon as train travel becomes available to US tourists we will offer this option. Departure by either train or plane is available for non-US tourists, please inform us of your choice at the time of booking. Train arrives to Beijing the following morning.
24 hour Dandong extension is availalble only with return by train (not currently available to US citizens).

**On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays return flights are provided only by Air China with $150.00 surcharge. Air China flies only during peak travel season.

TOUR APPLICATION
Please note that although we have been assured that the Mass Games and tours for Americans will go ahead in 2012, there is always the possibility that things will change and alterations and cancellations will occur, we will update this page as and when anything changes but we are confident and hopeful that all will proceed as planned.
Costs
All our tour prices are fully inclusive from Beijing into the DPRK and back to Beijing. This covers the cost of roundtrip flight Beijing-Pyongyang- Beijing, all travel within the DPRK, meals, tour guides, and twin room accommodation. For single travellers we will try to find a same-sex member of the group for you to share with or you can opt for a single room at an extra cost $60.00 per night. The tariff excludes DPRK visa fee (approximately $75), the Mass Games tickets, (approximately $100), your additional expenses (souvenirs, extra drinks, etc) and optional tips for the guides and driver.
We still offer the very good value for money, our tours are the best available due to our many years experience, we accompany more tours than any other US company so we are on the scene to make constant improvements and our long-standing relationship and weekly communication with our Korean counterparts means we are much more hands-on that anyone else.
Important. If you choose to take a tour then you must begin the application procedure at least four weeks before the departure date
TOUR APPLICATION
Payments
There is no credit card processing fee for deposit and partial payment. 3% credit card processing fee will be assesed for full tour prepayment portion.

A deposit of $200.00
, paid with check, money order or major credit card, is required when booking the tour. A partial payment of $500.00 for budget/mini group tours, $1,000.00 for mini and short group tours (up to 6 nights) and $1,500.00 for long (7 nights and longer), exclusive group and all independent tours, paid with check, money order or major credit card, is due at least 30 days prior to the tour’s start date.

The remaining balance is due in Beijing at the orientation meeting at 4:00 PM one day prior to departure to DPRK paid in cash (USD, Euros or Chinese RMB) or travelers cheques only. As a convenience, full balance can be prepaid in US with check, money order or major credit card (with 3% processing fee) at least 30 days in advance.

Every tourist will be issued a voucher indicating his(her) itinerary, amount paid and balance outstanding. Hotels in Pyongyang are usually packed during Mass Games and need to be booked in advance. New Korea Tours can not guarantee that any upgrades or other changes will be honored at the last moment.
Discounts

We offer discounts to children, students, returning tourists and groups of 3 or more that sign together.

Cancellations

The deposit of $200.00 is refundable with $30.00 refund processing fee. The deposit becomes non-refundable 30 days prior to the tour’s start date if the tourist cancels himself.

Should the client wish to cancel after partial payment has been paid, it becomes non-refundabe 30 days prior to the tour’s start date. Those who prepaid the tour in full will receice the difference between full and partial payments.

If however New Korea Tours cannot arrange visas or for whatever reason it is not possible to travel to DPRK at the specified time (or you cannot make rescheduled dates) a full refund will be made.

Please be sure that you will definitely be joining the tour when you send your partial payment.

All travelers to DPRK require to obtain Travel Insurance with emergency medical option. You can purchase travel insurance on your own at your home country or at the pre-tour meeting in Beijing for 300RMB (up to 7 days) or 400RMB (up to 15 days) in cash only.
