Tues 14th February

AM: Bus from office to Airport
PM: Departure with Air Koryo flight JS152 Beijing – Pyongyang from PEK, Terminal 2 at 13:00 , arrive in Pyongyang at 16:25. Meet guides who will accompany you during your stay, Arch of Triumph – similar to the French version (but bigger)
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Wed 15th February

AM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict, War Victory Monuments - sculptures of notable events from the war, Monument to Party Foundation - commemorates the 50 years of Workers' Party rule
PM: Mangyongdae Native House - birthplace of the DPRK founder Kim Il Sung, Pyongyang Metro (extended ride) - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals, Museum of Metro Construction (shows the efforts of the builders of the Pyongyang Metro under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung), Schoolchildren’s Palace tour and performance
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Thurs 16th February

AM: DPRK HOLIDAY: Birthday of DPRK Leader Kim Jong IlKumsusan Memorial Palace- Mausoleum where President Kim Il Sung lies in state, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery - bronze busts of the Koreans who died fighting the Japanese occupation, Foreign Language Bookshop
PM: Holiday events such as Kimjongilia Flower Show, Figure Skating contest, Synchronised Swimming performance, Expected MASS DANCE on Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square in the heart of the city, Drive to Mount Myohyang
OVERNIGHT: Chongchon Hotel, Mt. Myohyang

Fri 17th February

AM: International Friendship Exhibition - a series of enormous subterranean exhibition rooms housing gifts given to the DPRK’s leaders by foreign political figures, notable figures, politicians and organisations, Pohyon Buddhist Temple - Historical holy temple that originates from 1042
PM: Return to Pyongyang via Ryongmun Caves, Mangyongdae Art Studio tour - Pyongyang’s centre of artistic excellence
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Sat 18th February

AM: Fountain Park, Mansudae Grand Monument statue of DPRK President Kim Il Sung, Juche Tower - 150m stone tower with lookout platform at the top and great panoramic views of the city Walk in the city centre along Taedong Riverbank
PM: Drive to Kaesong (2.5 hours) - a historical city near the DMZ which avoided being destroyed in the Korean War, Local park & Pavilions, Tomb of King Kongmin - beautiful twin-domed tomb of the 31st King of the Koryo Dynasty and his Mongolian wife, Walk in the old city
OVERNIGHT: Minsok Hotel, Kaesong

Sun 19th February

AM
: Panmunjom/DMZ boundary between North and South Korea Return to Pyongyang, Pyongyang Film Studios,
PM: Moranbong Park - where the people of Pyongyang go to enjoy their holiday, USS Pueblo - tour the American espionage ship captured in the 1968, Golden Lane Bowling Centre - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games, Paradise Department Store & Micro-Brewery
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Mon 20th February

Plane option

AM: Pyongyang sightseeing tour (itinerary TBD) .
PM: Air China Flight CA122 departure Pyongyang 05:20PM, arrival Beijing 06:20PM. End of Tour

Train option (non-US citizens)
AM: Train from Pyongyang departs at 10:10AM
PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong
OVERNIGHT: On train

Tue 21st February

AM: 08:34 Arrival at Beijing Central Railway Station. End of Tour

Air China return flight surcharge: $150
DPRK VISA FEE: $75 (to be paid at the pre-tour meeting)
PRE-TOUR MEETING: Monday 13th February, 4PM, at our office in Beijing
EXPECTED WEATHER: It will be cold, no higher than 5 °C so bring warm clothes.

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, plane/train Pyongyang-Beijing
  2. All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below
  3. Hotel accommodations in DPRK
  4. All entry fees
  5. Two guides and a driver per group
  6. All transportation in DPRK
  7. Transportation to Beijing airport prior to departure to DPRK.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE (all payments paid in cash) :

  1. Transportation from your country to Beijing and hotel stay in Beijing
  2. Optional single room supplement of $60 per night (must be booked in advance and can be pre-paid in US with credit card)
  3. Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
  4. DPRK visa fee $75 (paid at the pre-tour meeting in Beijing)
  5. Tip for the guides (approx $30 total)
  6. Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately $10 per person)
  7. Entry tickets for special events (Revolutionary opera, circus , etc).
  8. The lift up the Juche Tower $8
  9. Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
