PM: Flight JS152 from Beijing to Pyongyang, 13:00 departure, arrive Pyongyang 16:25, meet your Korean guides who will accompany you during your stay. En route to the hotel stop off at the Arch of Triumph - similar to the French version (but bigger) - commemorates the liberation from Japanese rule, check in hotel.MASS GAMES after dinner

Kumsusan Memorial Palace - Mausoleum where President Kim Il Sung lies in state, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery - bronze busts of the Koreans who died fighting the Japanese occupation, Foreign Language Bookshop - Read up on what you are seeing here and buy your gifts and night time reading, Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square in the heart of the city
PM: Moranbong Park, Local funfair, Golden Lane Bowling Centre - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games, expected Mass Dance on Kim Il Sung Square

AM: Mangyongdae Native House - birthplace of the DPRK founder Kim Il Sung, Pyongyang Metro (extended ride) - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals, Fountain Park, Mansudae

AM: International Friendship Exhibition - a series of enormous subterranean exhibition rooms housing gifts given to the DPRK's leaders by foreign political figures, notable figures, politicians and
organizations, Pohyon Buddhist Temple - Historical holy temple that originates from 1042, picnic lunch in the mountains
PM: Brief hike to see waterfalls and stunning scenery, return to Pyongyang, 3 Revolutions Exhibition, Evening funfair visit
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Wed 12th Sep

AM: Drive to Kaesong (2.5 hours) - a historical city near the DMZ which avoided being destroyed in the Korean War, Panmunjom/DMZ boundary between North and South Korea, Koryo Museum - preserved Confucian museum in the old part of town
PM: Tomb of King Kongmin - beautiful twin-domed tomb of the 31st King of the Koryo Dynasty and his Mongolian wife, local park and pavilion, return to Pyongyang, Walk in the city along Taedong river, ancient city gates, Paradise micro-brewery & bar

AM: Flight JS151 departure Pyongyang 09:00AM, arrival Beijing 10:00AM. End of Tour.

Train option (for non-US citizens)

PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong

AM: Train arrives Beijing 08:34AM. End of tour.

EXPECTED WEATHER: It will be hot and and humid around this time with possible rain showers, around 20-25° C Raincoat/umbrella advised!

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, plane/train Pyongyang-Beijing
  2. All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below
  3. Hotel accommodations in DPRK
  4. All entry fees
  5. Two guides and a driver per group
  6. All transportation in DPRK
  7. Transportation to Beijing airport prior to departure to DPRK.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE (all payments paid in cash) :

  1. Transportation from your country to Beijing and hotel stay in Beijing
  2. Optional single room supplement of $60 per night (must be booked in advance and can be pre-paid in US with credit card)
  3. Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
  4. DPRK visa fee $75
  5. Tip for the guides (approx $30 total)
  6. Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately $10 per person)
  7. Entry tickets for Mass Games (paid at the gate) Mass Games seating chart or other special events (Revolutionary opera, circus , etc).
  8. The lift up the Juche Tower $8
  9. Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
