Itinerary - Party Foundation Day Tour

AM: Bus from office to airport.
PM: Flight JS152 from Beijing to Pyongyang. 13:00 departure, arrive Pyongyang, meet your Korean guides who will accompany you during your stay. En route to the hotel stop off at the Arch of Triumph - similar to the French version (but bigger) - commemorates the liberation from Japanese rule, Check in hotel.

Kumsusan Memorial Palace - Mausoleum where President Kim Il Sung lies in state, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery - bronze busts of the Koreans who died fighting the Japanese occupation, Foreign Language Bookshop, Read up on what you are seeing here and buy your gifts and night time reading, Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square in the heart of the city
PM: Mangyongdae Native House - birthplace of the DPRK founder Kim Il Sung, Mansudae Art Studio - Pyongyang’s centre of artistic excellence, Pyongyang Metro (extended ride) - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals), Museum of Metro Construction (shows the efforts of the builders of the Pyongyang Metro under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung)
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang
Mon 8th Oct
AM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict,
War Victory Monuments - sculptures of notable events from the war,
USS Pueblo - tour the American espionage ship captured in the 1968, Juche Tower - 150m stone tower with lookout platform at the top and great panoramic views of the city
PM: Drive to Mt. Myohyang, brief hike in the mountains, Buddhist Temple
OVERNIGHT: Chongchon Hotel, Mt. Myohyang
Tue 9th Oct
AM: International Friendship Exhibition - A series of enormous subterranean exhibition rooms housing gifts given to the DPRK’s leaders by foreign political figures, notable figures, politicians and organisations,
return to Pyongyang (2 hours)
PM: Grand People’s Study House - large public library/study centre in the middle of Pyongyang, Pyongyang Film Studio - tour the sets where some of the DPRK's best feature films are made,
Schoolchildren’s Palace tour and performance, drive to Kaesong

Return to Pyongyang, Party Founding Museum, Monument to Party Foundation commemorates the 50 years of Workers' Party
rule, Moranbong Park - where the people of Pyongyang go to enjoy their holiday, Golden Lane Bowling Centre - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games,

Train option (for non-US citizens)
AM: Train from Pyongyang departs at 10:10AM.
PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong.
OVERNIGHT: On train
Fri 12th Oct
AM: Train arrives Beijing 08:34AM. End of tour.

DPRK VISA FEE: $75
PRE-TOUR MEETING: Friday 5th October, 4PM, at our office in Beijing
EXPECTED WEATHER: It will be cool in the morenings and evenings but warm during the day, around 20°C.

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
- Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, plane/train Pyongyang-Beijing
- All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below
- Hotel accommodations in DPRK
- All entry fees
- Two guides and a driver per group
- All transportation in DPRK
- Transportation to Beijing airport prior to departure to DPRK.
NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE (all payments paid in cash) :
- Transportation from your country to Beijing and hotel stay in Beijing
- Optional single room supplement of $60 per night (must be booked in advance and can be pre-paid in US with credit card)
- Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
- DPRK visa fee $75
- Tip for the guides (approx $30 total)
- Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately $10 per person)
- Entry tickets for special events (Revolutionary opera, circus , etc).
- The lift up the Juche Tower $8
- Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
