Itinerary - North/South/West Tour
Tues 15th June
AM: Bus from office to airport.
PM: Flight JS152 from Beijing to Pyongyang, 13:00 departure, arrive Pyongyang 16:25, meet your Korean guides who will accompany you during your stay. En route to the hotel stop off at the Arch of Triumph - similar to the French version (but bigger) - commemorates the liberation from Japanese rule, the Fountain Park - a picturesque area in the centre of Pyongyang (an opportunity to mix with locals), and the Mansudae Grand Monument - statue of DPRK President Kim Il Sung. Check in hotel.
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang
Weds 16th June
AM: Grand People’s Study House - enormous library/public university building modelled in traditional Korean style over looking Kim Il Sung Square; Juche Tower - 150m stone tower with lookout platform at the top and great panoramic views of the city, Pyongyang Metro - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals, boat trip to Mangyongdae Native House - birthplace of the DPRK founder Kim Il Sung
PM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict, War Victory Monuments - sculptures of notable events from the war, drive to Mount Myohyang (2 hrs)

Thurs 17th June
AM: International Friendship Exhibition - a series of enormous subterranean exhibition rooms housing gifts given to the DPRK’s leaders by foreign political figures, notable figures and organisations, Pohyon Temple - historical Buddhist temple which originates from 1042, but has been rebuilt often since
PM: Return to Pyongyang (2 hrs), Schoolchildren’s Palace tour and performance - centre of extra-curricular excellence with study rooms and a breath-taking children’s performance.
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang
Fri 18th June
AM: Drive to Kaesong (2.5 hrs) - a historical city near the DMZ which avoided being destroyed in the Korean War, Panmunjom/DMZ - boundary between North and South Korea, Koryo Museum - preserved Confucian museum in the old part of town
PM: Tomb of King Kongmin - beautiful twin-domed tomb of the 31st King of the Koryo dynasty and his Mongolian wife, Concrete Wall - anti-tank barrier erected on the southern boundary of the DMZ, visit a local park before checking into the Folk Hotel where guests sleep on the floor in the traditional Korean style.
OVERNIGHT: Minsok Hotel Kaesong
Sat 19th June
AM: Return to Pyongyang (2.5 hrs), 3 Revolutions Exhibition - exhibition exemplifying the country's Ideological, Cultural, and Technical achievements, walk along the Taedong river which runs through the centre of the city, Foreign Languages Bookshop - read up on what you’re seeing here and buy your gifts and night time reading
PM: Museum of Metro Construction - an enormous museum with a great many rooms describing the construction of the Pyongyang Metro, USS Pueblo - tour the American espionage ship captured in the 1968, Changgwang Health Complex - Pyongyang’s main sports centre with Olympic sized pool among other facilities, chance to go swimming, have a massage or haircut!, expected mass dance on Kim Il Sung Square to celebrate the day that Kim Jong Il began work for the KWP.
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang
Sun 20th June
AM: Drive to Nampo, West Sea Barrage - an 8 kilometre barrage constructed for flood-prevention, land-reclamation, and power generation at the mouth of the Taedong river, one of DPRK’s greatest feats of engineering, local orphanage - where parent-less children are raised, Sea Vessel Repair Shop - working facility where fishing boats and commercial vessels are repaired and maintained
PM: Return to Pyongyang, local funfair and Moranbong Park - where the people of Pyongyang go to enjoy their day off, Monument to Party Foundation- commemorates 50 years of Workers’ Party rule, Golden Lane Bowling Centre - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games.

Mon 21st June
Plane option
AM: Pyongyang sightseeing tour (itinerary TBD) .
PM: Flight CA122 departure Pyongyang 05:20PM, arrival Beijing 06:20PM. End of Tour.
Train option
AM: Train from Pyongyang departs at 10:10AM
PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong
OVERNIGHT: On train
Tues 22nd June
AM: Train arrives Beijing 08:34AM. End of tour.

TOUR COST: $2,490
DPRK VISA FEE: $50 (to be paid at the pre-tour meeting)
PRE-TOUR MEETING: Monday 14th May, 4PM, at our office in Beijing
EXPECTED WEATHER: It will be cool in the morning and evening but warm during the day, around 20-25°C so bring layers.

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
- Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, train/plane Pyongyang-Beijing
- All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE:
- Single room supplement of $50 per night
- Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
- DPRK visa fee $50
- Tip for the guides (approx $30 total)
- Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately $10 per person)
- Entry tickets for Mass Games and special events if applicable – for example Revolutionary Opera if being staged, or a visit to the funfair
- The lift up the Juche Tower $8
