Mon 16th Oct - MANDATORY PRE-TOUR MEETING

4PM: The group assembles in the office for a pre-tour briefing, which will last approximately 1 hour and is designed so that you will get the best out of your tour.

Tue 17th Oct - ARRIVAL DAY

AM: Meet together outside the office (time to be confirmed) and head to Beijing Airport T2 for our flight from Beijing to Pyongyang (1.5 hrs), the showcase capital of the DPRK
PM: Meet guides who will accompany you during your stay,
Mansudae Grand Monuments (the giant bronze statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il), Dinner in Ansan Guesthouse
OVERNIGHT: Potonggang/Koryo Hotel, Pyongyang

Wed 18th Oct - PYONGYANG CITY TOUR

AM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War Museum), USS Pueblo (US spy ship captured in 1968) to meet one of the crew members who captured the ship and hear of their experiences), Pyongyang Metro (extended ride to several stations), Arch of Triumph – similar to the French version (but bigger), Austrian Coffee Shop for a break and a chat with the head of Pyongyang’s only foreign law firm, lunch at the famous Ok Ryu cold noodle restaurant.
PM: Pyongyang Feature Film Studios – the Hollywood of the DPRK where some of the most iconic DPRK feature films were shot and produced. Paekdusan Architecture Institute - guided tour by a local architect with a lecture about local techniques, Juche Tower (150m stone monument allowing for stunning views over Pyongyang from the top), Moran bar - Pyongyang’s hottest new bar, evening walk through the city, dinner at Soje Guest House Restaurant
OVERNIGHT: Potonggang/Koryo Hotel, Pyongyang

Thu 19th Oct - PYONGYANG CITY TOUR

AM: Kumsusan Memorial Palace (Mausoleum of late DPRK leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il), visit the ffices of Hana Electronics - a joint venture (UK-DPRK) making DVD and other electronics. Lunch with the British director of the company who will give us a tour and can answer questions about his long history of working in DPRK.
PM: Mirim Horse Riding Centre, Mangyongdae Native House (birthplace of Kim Il Sung), Pyongyang State Circus performance, Sunset boat cruise along the Taedong river to Mangyongdae, delicious dinner and music entertainment on the cruise
OVERNIGHT: Potonggang/Koryo Hotel, Pyongyang

Fri 20th Oct - PANMUNJOM/DMZ & KAESONG

AM: Drive to Kaesong (2.5 hours) - a historical city near the DMZ which avoided being destroyed in the Korean War, Panmunjom/DMZ boundary between North and South Korea, Kaesong Koryo Museum, a beautiful old Confucian University, Sonjok Bridge, lunch at Re-unification traditional restaurant (optional dog meat soup).
PM: Walk through the old traditional streets of Kaesong to Jannam Hill with giant bronze statues of the leaders, return to Pyongyang, Party Foundation Monument (sculpture of hammer, sickle and calligraphy brush commemorating 50 years of the Workers' Party rule), Pyongyang Diplomatic Club for evening entertainment, drinks and farewell dinner
OVERNIGHT: Potonggang/Koryo Hotel, Pyongyang

Sat 21st Oct - DEPARTURE DAY

AM: Flight departs Pyongyang at 08:30 AM and arrives in Beijing at approx. 10:00 AM. End of Tour.

TOUR COST: $2,990
DPRK VISA FEE: $75
PRE-TOUR MEETING: Monday 16th October, 4PM, at our office in Beijing
EXPECTED WEATHER: It will be cool in the mornings and evenings but warm during the day, around 18°C.

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, plane Pyongyang-Beijing
  2. All meals
  3. Hotel accommodations in DPRK
  4. All entry fees
  5. Two guides and a driver per group
  6. All transportation in DPRK
  7. Transportation to Beijing airport prior to departure to DPRK.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE (all payments paid in cash) :

  1. Transportation from your country to Beijing and hotel stay in Beijing
  2. Travel insurance (can be purchased at the pre-tour briefing)
  3. Optional single room supplement of $60 per night (must be booked in advance and can be pre-paid in US with credit card)
  4. Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
  5. DPRK visa fee ($75)
  6. Tip for the guides (approx $7/day)
  7. Entry tickets for special events (Revolutionary opera, circus , etc).
  8. The lift up the Juche Tower (approx $6)
  9. Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
