AM: Bus from office to Airport
PM: Departure with Air Koryo flight JS152 Beijing – Pyongyang from PEK, Terminal 2 at 13:00 , arrive in Pyongyang at 16:25. Meet guides who will accompany you during your stay, Arch of Triumph similar to the French version (but bigger), MASS GAMES
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Sun 29th April

AM: AM: Kumsusan Memorial Palace- Mausoleum where President Kim Il Sung lies in state, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery - bronze busts of the Koreans who died fighting the Japanese occupation, Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square in the heart of the city
PM: Moranbong Park, Mangyongdae Native House - birthplace of the DPRK founder Kim Il Sung, Pyongyang Metro (extended ride) - the deepest in the world, take a ride with the locals, Juche Tower - 150m stone tower with lookout platform at the top and great panoramic views of the city, Drive to Mt. Myohyang
OVERNIGHT: Chongchon Hotel. Mt. Myohyang

Mon 30th April

AM: International Friendship Exhibition - a series of enormous subterranean exhibition rooms housing gifts given to the DPRK’s leaders by foreign political figures, notable figures, politicians and organisations, Pohyon Buddhist Temple Historical holy temple that originates from 1042, Return to Pyongyang
PM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict, Monument to Party Foundation - commemorates the 50 years of Workers' Party rule, War Victory Monuments, Walking in the city along the Taedong River
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Tues 1st May

AM: DPRK HOLIDAY: May Day Fountain Park, Mansudae Grand Monument - statue of President Kim Il Sung, May Day festival in Taesongsan Park. Picnic lunch in the park
PM: Moranbong Park, Paradise Micro-Brewery, Golden Lane Bowling Centre - where Pyongyangers go for their ten-pin fix, also has some early 90s arcade games, Expected MASS DANCE on Kim Il Sung Square
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Wed 2nd May

AM: Drive to Kaesong (2.5 hours) - A historical city near the DMZ which avoided being destroyed in the Korean War, visit the Panmunjom/DMZ boundary between North and South Korea and the Koryo Museum - preserved Confucian museum in the old part of town, local park & pavilion
PM:Tomb of King Kongmin - beautiful twin-domed tomb of the 31st King of the Koryo Dynasty and his Mongolian wife, Return to Pyongyang, USS Pueblo - tour the American espionage ship captured in the 1968, Paradise micro-brewery & bar, Kaeson Youth Funfair
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

Thu 3rd May

Plane option
AM: Flight JS151 departure Pyongyang 09:00AM, arrival Beijing 10:00AM. End of Tour

Train option (non-US citizens)
AM: Train from Pyongyang departs at 10:10AM
PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong
OVERNIGHT: On train

Fri 4th May

AM: Train arrives Beijing 08:34AM. End of tour.

TOUR COST: $2,240
DPRK VISA FEE: $75(to be paid at the pre-tour meeting)
PRE-TOUR MEETING: Friday 27th April, 4PM, at our office in Beijing
EXPECTED WEATHER: It will be cool in the morning and evening but warmer during the day, around 20°C so bring layers.

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, plane/train Pyongyang-Beijing
  2. All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below
  3. Hotel accommodations in DPRK
  4. All entry fees
  5. Two guides and a driver per group
  6. All transportation in DPRK
  7. Transportation to Beijing airport prior to departure to DPRK.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE (all payments paid in cash) :

  1. Transportation from your country to Beijing and hotel stay in Beijing
  2. Optional single room supplement of $60 per night (must be booked in advance and can be pre-paid in US with credit card)
  3. Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
  4. DPRK visa fee $75 (paid at the pre-tour meeting in Beijing)
  5. Tip for the guides (approx $30 total)
  6. Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately $10 per person)
  7. Entry tickets for Mass Games (paid at the gate) Mass Games seating chart or other special events (Revolutionary opera, circus , etc).
  8. The lift up the Juche Tower $8
  9. Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
