Independent Tours Itineraries and Prices

Group tourism is not for everyone and even though traveling in a group in North Korea is very different to doing the same elsewhere we realize it is not to everyone's taste, therefore we also offer independent un-accompanied tours. These have several advantages; you can choose your dates and methods of travel, you can have a greater say in your itinerary and visit places that the group tours don't go to.
However un-accompanied tours does not mean you are free to roam the DPRK alone at will, you will be accompanied by official guides as per the laws of North Korea, this can be a benefit as you will have their undivided attention, but if you are a single traveler with two guides it can get to be a bit much.
These independent tours are available to groups of any size, from one person upwards and the price per person decreases as the amount of people in the group rises. However if you are thinking of traveling as a small group or as an individual you will find that the tour is more expensive than the scheduled group tours

NEW!!  Golf lovers – unique opportunity to play a round of 18-hole golf in the heart of last bastion of communism in the world. Its territory is over 120 hectares and the green covers 45 hectares, with a total length of the golf courses extending about 7km. Green fees $120 includes all equipment.

The extra places that we do not usually visit on group tours but which are more available to independent travelers include:

  • Three Revolution Exhibition-(cultural technical ideological) creations made 'under the wise leadership of the great leader Kim Il Song and the great leader Kim Jong Il
  • Kim Il Sung University
  • Metro museum - on the construction of the Pyongyang Metro
  • Railway Museum- currently the only possibility for train enthusiasts- steam tours might be restarting next year 2002

  • Karaoke and billiards at the Diplomatic Club

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Due to recent changes in the rules allowing US citizens into the DPRK we can offer only 4 night tours at this time. Please see two suggested programs below offering a departure plane both ways. We hope to be able to resume offering longer tours but this is unconfirmed and it seems likely that restrictions will stay in place. However it is still a great opportunity and the chance of a lifetime to visit the most unique and least visited country in the world, please contact us at info@newkoreatours.com for more information on independent tours.
